Senior School: High-Performing Secondary Education in Darwin
The Essington School's Senior School provides a high-performing secondary education for students in Years 7 to 12. With high expectations, engaging learning experiences and individual support, students are known, challenged and supported to achieve their best and prepare confidently for life beyond school.
Building on the foundations established in Junior School, students are supported to shape an educational pathway that reflects their strengths, interests and aspirations.
In the senior years, students can select subjects and pathways aligned with their goals, supported by experienced educators who provide guidance throughout their NTCET and SACE journey.
Learning extends beyond the classroom through co-curricular activities, leadership, service and other opportunities that support personal growth, confidence and engagement with the wider community.

Senior School Philosophy
Our Senior School philosophy centres on preparing students for success at school and beyond. Students are supported to take increasing responsibility for their learning, make informed choices about their pathways and develop the confidence and independence needed for the next stage of their lives.
With high expectations, individual guidance and opportunities to grow both within and beyond the classroom, students are encouraged to become capable, responsible and engaged young adults who are ready to contribute positively to their communities.
